At Dynamic Dies, turning complex designs into production-ready reality requires creative insight and technical precision. Art Director Miranda Robertson-Hall applies this philosophy to her work leading the package design team.
Miranda’s role combines art and science. She’s a designer who thinks like a builder — part creative, part engineer. And, she has a knack for translating clients’ visions into production-ready reality.
Recently named Art Director, Miranda brings to the role a graphic design background, a love of typography, a growing passion for “color science” and technical problem-solving. We caught up with Miranda to learn more about her path, what she loves most about the work and how she helps clients navigate complex projects.

Q: Tell us about your background. How did you get started in design?
A: I studied graphic design in college, but my love for design really started in high school. I originally wanted to go into animation, and I had a teacher who really inspired me to get into graphic design. She gave me a project that took me all year and gave me a lot of freedom to work on it, and that really got me going.
I graduated with a degree in graphic design and a minor in marketing. Six years ago, after working at a printing company, I got a call from Dynamic Dies. I’ve grown my career here and never looked back.
Q: What opportunities has your new role opened up for you?
A: I’ve learned a lot quickly and I’ve had challenges thrown my way, which has helped me grow. One of the things that was important to me is that I could still do hands-on creative work, like recreating samples. That part of the job is really fulfilling.
Q: What kinds of design challenges do you enjoy the most?
A: Recreating and redrawing logos, samples and proofs. This job has really helped me cultivate a love for typography because I’ve had to recreate so many designs. Overall, our production work is really all about creative problem-solving, and every project presents a new, exciting challenge.
Q: How has your collaboration with customers evolved in your new role?
A: When customers ask, “Is this possible?” I can talk with them and walk through what the data says, what we can do and how we can achieve their goals. We’re a production-based team, and solving design challenges is definitely art and science.
Q: How are you involved in the industry as a female leader?
A: I recently joined Women of Flexo, which includes industry members from the pressroom, prepress department, sales roles, management and other positions. I’m looking forward to attending their conference in March (stay tuned for an update!), and overall, I’m really excited to take this role as art director and run with it as we continue delivering projects that ‘wow’ our clients.
